Irish Heritage Trail

Formed in 2000, the Boston Irish Tourism Association promotes the Irish-American community year round to the travel and tourism industry. We work closely with the state's grass roots organizations and mainstream cultural institutions to showcase the state's culture, history and heritage.

Our goal is to make it easy for visitors and local residents to easily get immersed in the state's wonderful range of cultural activities, and to take advantage of the hospitality amenities available to travelers.

We've created the Boston version of the Irish Heritage Trail as a self-guided walk through downtown Boston and Back Bay. You can pick up a copy of the map at the visitor centers run by the Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau on the Boston Common and at the Prudential Center. Maps are also available at information centers along the Massachusetts Turnpike.

We are working on several initiates in 2008 to provide regularly-scheduled guided tours of the Boston Irish Heritage Trail. For now we offer customized guided tours for convention groups, school classes, media fam trips and group tours based upon availability.
